Bordi

Bordi has traditionally been an educational centre with a number of schools lining the road on the sea front.It is situated in Thane district and is an uncluttered beach.The predominance of Zoroastrian farmers and horticulturists has ensured that Bordi maintains itself in the same tranquil manner in which it found itself 50 years ago and not a single thing is out of place or has been touched by the nasty urban efffect. A truly peaceful and rustic setting.

Mecca of the Zoroastrians is a place, which is very popular amongst tourists as there is a magnificent temple, which houses the sacred fire of the Zoroastrians. It is believed that this fire has been kept alive for almost a thousand years. The existence of Iranian and Persian culture further makes this place more exotic.Bordi is very well known for the chickoo and other fruits orchards.

Bordi is a coastal town which stretches 17km where Persian settlers and Chikoo orchards propound their distinct culture and natural beauty.

The climate is moist and humid but healthy and devoid of pollution.It has an equable climate with little variation in the average minimum and maximum temperatures. During the summer (April to June) the minimum temperature is 26?C and the maximum is 34?C. The monsoon (July to October) brings temperatures down marginally to 24?C and the maximum temperature down to 31?C. In winter from November to March the minimum is 21?C, while the maximum is 32?C with temperatures dropping at night.

In 1980, the Government of Maharasthra declared Bordi as a tourist spot.Due to its natural surroundings and prime quite and silent location between Mumbai and Gujrat, its help in attracting more tourists to this beautiful beach
