Geography and Climate of Sariska city
This sanctuary is situated in the district of Alwar in Rajasthan and lies about 110 km from Jaipur.In Summer temperature ranges from 38.3 C to 28.8 C.In winter temperature ranges from 28.3 C to 8 C.Rainy Season is from July to Mid September and very humid i.e.Upto 90%.Best time to visit is from Sept. to March. According to 1991 census, there were 10344 human beings in 24 villages in the core zone and 243667 human beings in 246 villages in the buffer zone respectively.Human population inside and around the Reserve is increasing rapidly because of illiteracy.

Economy of Sariska city
Economy consists mostly of agriculture and industries.Kharif crops grown in the district comprise of bajra, jowar, maize, tur and other pulses. Rabi crops include wheat, barley, and gram.Some other cereals and millets are also grown.
The large scale industries in the district are related to Iron and steel, machine tools, chemicals and synthetics, and coal fired power plant.Other medium sized industries are involved in manufacturing of edible oils, printing and publishing, and stone crushing.Among cottage industry in rural areas cloth printing and dyeing, lac bangle making, stone carving, and pottery are undertaken.
The main export from the district is mainly agricultural produce like food grains, oil seeds, edible oils, and spices.The main articles that are imported consist of cloth, tobacco, industrial machinery, kerosene, petrol, and diesel.

Flora and Fauna of Sariska city
Major Flora includes Dhok or Anogeissus pendula is the dominant tree species,covering over 90 per cent area of the forest.Boswellia serreta and Lannea coromandelica grow at rocky patches.Kattha or Acacia Catechu and Bamboo are common in the valleys.Some valleys support Palas and Ber.Besides these some noteworthy tree species are Arjun,Gugal,Kadaya,Amla,Bahera. Major Fauna includes Tiger, Leopard, Caracal, Rusty Spotted Cat, Jungle Cat, Four-horned Antelope, Sambar, Spotted Deer, Wild Boar, Blue Bull, Jackal, Hyena etc.
